I know it’s been FOREVER since I posted on here! I’m getting ready for some major MAGIK coming your way in the new year. More on it soon! In the meantime, I wanted to check in with this amazing community and share a little something to help you power through to the end of the year.
Have you checked in with yourself lately? Take a moment, at least once a day, to scan over your body and see how you’re doing. Any emotion bubbling up to the surface? Any twitch, stiffness or pain within your body? Deep down, YOU know what you need. Especially during the bustling holiday season, it’s SO important to remain in tune with your needs and seek out calmness. This is a beautiful time celebrate JOY - to celebrate MAGIK - if you’re letting life whirl by and finding yourself spiraling down, love, it’s time to get back to you and go back to your calm.
Find ways amongst the bustle to let go and find stillness. Go back to your b r e a t h. Often when people are stressed out or feel emotional intensity of any kind, they impair the body and mind further by shortening the breath and forgetting to breathe, full and deep. This in turn only worsens the stress and anxiety you may already be feeling. Even taking just a few moments to breathe deeply and really focus on your inhale and exhale, you naturally allow the body to start to calm itself down and bring about relaxation.
What other ways can you find your CALM during a season of holiday parties, long shopping lists, cooking, cleaning and entertaining?
Ask for help.
This has been a huge lesson for me this past year. Acknowledge that life happens and realize when you need a little extra support in order to keep your sanity. Stay present. Stay open. I had help with my house decorating this year and I’m so grateful for it! I have a beautiful support system that has been there for me this whole year.
Move the body, mind and spirit’s energies.
It can mean different things to different people or you may need something different every time, but the idea is to turn off from it ALL (even for just a little) so you can turn on your true light. This can be anything from journaling, a walk outside, a fun exercise class, yoga, a self-care ritual or a meditation practice. Many times, the things and people that cause you the most stress or drama are the ones you are especially surrounded by during the holidays like your family. Know when you need to take some time for yourself and rejuvenate your system.
Celebrate YOU and connect back with your true self
It can be so easy to get caught up in the daily stresses of life, especially at the end of the year when you spend time pressuring yourself to do the next BIG thing and not enough time spent in a more passive, relaxed and connected state of being. Once you feel yourself connected back into your breath and your body, go inside your heart. Feel the aliveness of your beating heart.
Let yourself feel it all as you end out the year, but also take time to acknowledge that you can make new choices and start creating a life that has less stress and so much more love. That’s the beautiful thing about life. You always have a choice. Remember how powerful you are and the undeniable value of yourself. You got this.
